Blog Feature: Pittieful Love

04 Aug

I love Pit Bulls. I do not currently have one, but I still love them. have never met a Pit that didn’t respond to me kisses and head butts. This is one reason I love Pittieful Love. They are dedicated to helping get the message of how great these dogs are out to the wider world. Besides blogging, they also foster, and, of course, have their own Pittie love.

This year has been a rough year for the family, losing their first dog, but they have found a new member of the family, and this week, he gets Squeeky Clean.

Bloggers Unite for Dog Rescue

23 Jul

Today, all of my blogs are dedicated to the Blogger’s Unite for Dog Rescue campaign. Rescuing a dog is not just about adopting from your local shelter (though that is great), it starts with getting dogs out of abusive and neglectful homes, runs through care at shelters, sometime transportation to other shelters or rescues where the dogs have a better chance of being adopted, foster homes, adoption drives, and finally, the family that brings their new member home.

You can support dog rescue in any capacity, even if it is just making others aware that great dogs come from shelters.

Blog Feature: Dog is God in Reverse

21 Jul

Over at Dog is God in Reverse, they have 4 dogs- that’s one more dog than us. And she works far enough away that she’s not home during the week. Talk about a hectic life!

I love their product reviews and especially the book reviews (because my “to read” list needs to get longer), but this week, I want to focus on their grand dame, Tori. Tori has been with the family less than a year, but she knows how to take charge. And just recently, she was featured in a photo spread in Life and Dog. You go girl!

Blog Feature: Anne the Dog Photographer

07 Jul

I love Anne The Dog Photographer’s site. In addition to posting great pictures of dogs in need of adoption in her local area (and she is an excellent dog photographer), she’s started posting stories about her adventures with her own dogs, including this week’s “It Felt Like a Death March”, written from the perspective of her dog, Ollie.

I absolutely love the booties that were made for Ella, and Ollie looks beyond happy being carried. That’s just the goofball kind of grin that makes you fall in love.

So head on over to check out the pictures and the stories.

Blog Feature: 2 Punk Dogs with appearances by 4 cool cats

23 Jun

June is Adopt a Shelter Cat month. I can’t get a cat because of C’s allergies and the fact that I have two fairly high prey drive dogs. But if I could get a cat, I would totally adopt an older cat from a shelter. Why an older cat? Pretty much for all the reasons spelled out in Older Cats Rock! over at 2 Punk Dogs with appearances by 4 cool cats.

I love the humor of this blog, and the pictures, and that they manage to have cats even while having 2 punk terriers. If they can do it…

Blog Feature: Of Pit Bulls and Patience

09 Jun

Of Pit Bulls and Patience is the blog of a dog trainer which focuses on her two dogs- Skye, a Pit Bull and Parker, a Schnauzer mix- as well as some of the dogs she is currently working with. She also gives us lots of pictures of the dogs, which we all know, I love.

She has been really busy lately, so there haven’t been too many posts, but What Goes Around got posted on Friday, getting us all up to date on weddings, French Bulldogs, Dachsunds, dog aggression, and Yorkies.

That is a lot of dogs for a summer.

Blog Feature: Tales and Tails

12 May

Let me start by saying that if you want to see some lovely photographs of dogs, you definitely need to head over to Tales and Tails. And while the Greyhounds, both Bunny and Blueberry, are absolutely gorgeous, I am partial to the shepherds. I grew up with an amazing GSD, so I just cannot help but be like everyone else, including the vet school students, and be in love with little Kuster. I am partial to crazy Morgan, though, too. And I just want to give her a hug, not that she would ever let me, but I want to.

Blog Feature: Something Wagging this Way Comes

28 Apr

Pamela has not been blogging there much lately, but it still surprised me when realized I had not yet done a blog feature on Something Wagging This Way Comes. I consistently enjoy Pamela’s writing, her positive attitude, and the lessons she is able to learn from her beautiful Golden Retriever, Honey. In fact, my favorite posts of hers are from her Puppiness Project series, where she attempts to learn lessons about how to be happy from Honey. The latest, The Blessing Accompanies the Curse, is a reminder to see a silver lining in every cloud, just like our dogs do.

Blog Feature: Rescued Insanity

07 Apr

Kristine (and Shiva) of Rescued Insanity just celebrated their 2nd blogging anniversary. I haven’t even been reading the blog for a year, so I’m glad they’ve stuck around this long and hope they’re around for another 2+ years.

Her post on Friday, Does Your Dog Have a Theme Song? has had me thinking all night about that. Do June and Larry have a theme song? Did Moree or Smokey? What about little Howie? And honestly, I’m going to be thinking about this for like a week or more- until I come up with theme songs for my dog. Sad, huh?

Blog Feature: Budgeting in the Fun Stuff

31 Mar

Crystal at Budgeting in the Fun Stuff represents the dream come true for a lot of bloggers out there- she was able to quit her job to focus on her blogging and blog advertising businesses full time. And not only did she make more money than she had before, she made enough that this year, her husband was able to quit his job and start working full time on the blog with her!

And all of that is great, but the real reason I chose to feature BiFS this week? They just brought home their third rescue dog. Meet Oreo!
