Just Finished Reading: His Robot Girlfriend by Wesley Allison

17 Feb

I normally write about books or authors I like. Not this time. I read this book because it was free on my eReader- don’t pay money for it.

The writing was mediocre at best. And while I love character driven novels, I need some sort of plot. I need the protagonist to take action, even if that action is purposely doing nothing.

In this book, the only action the protag took was ordering a robot. After that, everything pretty much happened to him. There’s apparently a sequel called “His Robot Wife”. I won’t be reading it, even if it’s free.

  3. His Robot Wife is 99 cents wherever ebooks are sold. It is getting good reviews and is currently #350 on the Kindle UK store (#7 sci-fi).

    why was robot girlfriend free?

  5. For the time being at least, His Robot Wife will be 99 cents. His Robot Girlfriend was one of my first writing efforts. I never intended to try and publish it, but was urged by friends to post it to the web. It's been very popular– having been downloaded over 100,000 times. There has been criticism that the writing isn't the greatest (see above) and I would agree. At least, I think I've gotten much better. But it's out there. Getting something off the Internet is like getting pee out of a pool.
