The Good:

When we arrived at the house, a neighbor was walking her dog by. She mentioned she could not believe how great the house looked. It had been bought and flipped, and she was thrilled. And while the house did not have the curb appeal of the previous brick house, it still looked quite nice, and fit in very well with the surrounding neighborhood.

It was on a quiet street, Beacon Hill area, and again, seemed like an area where I would be fine with the girls playing outside.

The house had been beautifully flipped. The main floor had great flow, and I liked the colors that were used on the walls. They kept the original brick of the fireplace, so that’s a bit blackened, but I actually liked it and thought it added character.

There were two bedrooms on the main floor with a full bath between them. For us, those bedrooms would be a guest room and maybe a game room, giving us a little extra public space.

The top floor was just the master suite. It had its own full bath, and a large double closet.

The basement was fully finished with another two bedrooms, full bath, and entertainment area. The entertainment area was big enough to be configured well for a Kinnect, and the whole set up would give the girls pretty much the basement – each with their own room and then a nice big play space/family entertainment area where we would not have to worry about their toys and things on the main floor.

The Bad:

The stove was not a gas stove. The laundry closet was literally a closet, right next to the kitchen and would require a stackable washer and dryer (however, the garage was also plumbed for a washer and dryer).

The Verdict:

As we were leaving, the girls asked me “Can we buy this house?”

If we were actually in a spot to buy this week, I would have set up a time for C and I to go see the house and actually look around the yard (which I did not do due to weather). Price, size, lay out, location all work for me. Really, its biggest detractor is that the house I LOVE in our neighborhood is going for slightly less. (And that house has an offer, so I will not be getting it.)
