House Hunting 3/22

Our Reno condo has finally gone on the market. That puts us one step closer to seriously house hunting. Traffic confounded our original plans to look at houses today, but we did go see one place in our neighborhood.

$395,000  4 bed / 2 bath / 1,740 square feet / 9,150 square foot lot / 3 car garage + carports

The Good:

I am ridiculously charmed by the koi pond. Plus there’s a hot tub (under a shelter) and a full fountain, and two outside fireplaces.

The garage is huge with a ton or storage.

The 2 person garden tub is in its own little sun room off the master bedroom.

The Bad:

While I loved the back yard, the inside of the house was just a little too chopped up for me. Given how big the house was, the kitchen was tiny. We are not even sure the master bedroom had a closet.

The back yard, while great, had no dog space.

The Verdict:

With the exception of the koi pond, nothing about this house really struck me. I just feel blah about it. Given that it is in our neighborhood, we went to see it more as looky-loos then for serious consideration.

The girls did ask if we could buy it, but I really think that had to do with the koi pond and hot tub, and maybe the pinball machine in the smallest bedroom (which may also not have had a closet).

Overall, the home had a seventies swinger feel to it, for me, which was not a selling point.
