Month of Books – Day 1
Last summer, a Facebook thing was going around where you were challenged to post 7 book covers over 7 days of books you liked/had an impact on you/were important to you/whatever. The point was to post a picture of the book cover only, with no explanation. I took part in that challenge twice last summer. And then this summer, I was challenged again, and again I answered.
I did not repeat any books during the 3 weeks. I only repeated two authors (two of my absolute favorites) and those were limited to two mentions each. And at the end of the third week, I realized there were still a ton of books I would love to share. Every single time, narrowing the list to 7 books, even the third time when I had already listed 14 books, was difficult. At which point, I wondered to myself, how many more books do I want to share?
And so I made a list. The list was long. I repeated not a single author. The list ended up being over 30 books. In fact, it ended up being long enough that I realized that if I combined the new list with the previous 21 books, I could share 2 book covers a day, every day, in September, of books that I love, that had an impact on me, that were important to me in some way or another.
Due to time constraints and vacations and such, I will continue to just put the book covers in the blog posts without any explanation. But sometimes I might come in and comment on the post with more information. And if you ever want to know why one of the books mattered to me, feel free to ask.
