Gratitude Journal #29
Sunday night and I am sitting at my computer getting stuff done. I have an adorable little terrier sleeping on the dog bed next to me, and I do not have to go to work tomorrow. How perfect can an evening get? (A little more perfect. I expect that once I get everything done that I want to, I will go out and light a fire in my fire pit and make some s’mores.) And because it is such a good evening, I am giving you three things I am grateful for this week.
Gratitude Entry #67 –
Beautiful Sunrises
Okay, seriously I am not so thrilled that the days are starting to get shorter
and that I am literally walking from my house to the bus stop at sunrise right
now. I am certainly not looking forward to walking to the bus stop in the dark,
as will be happening soon. But in the meantime, since I am out of my house and
walking east in the mornings, I am going to take the time to grateful for
beautiful sunrises.
Not everyone wants to be up and about at sunrise (not even me, really), but if
that is where life puts you, I highly recommend taking a moment and taking in
the beauty that is dawn. (And this is why today’s pictures are of the cute dog
on the bed next to me, and then of sunrise, both on Monday and Thursday.)
Gratitude Entry #68 –
Three Day Weekends
Do I even need to explain this?
Gratitude Entry #69 –
We are not house hunting
Last year at this time, we were finishing up getting our old house ready to go
back on the market (after not selling the first go round) and looking for a new
house. This weekend, there were open house signs everywhere, and instead of
following them, we got to notice them and drive on. Last year, looking for a
house was like a weekend job. We got up and were out of the house by 9a and
were out looking at houses sometimes until after 4p.
We saw a lot of really neat houses, and some houses that we really wished we
could make an offer on. We are happy with where we ended up, but there were a
couple of places early on that we loved.
But yeah, it is nice that going to open houses is now something we do every
once in a while for fun (because I LOVE looking at houses), but it no longer
something we need to do. Instead, we
have a house that we really like, in a neighborhood that is pretty perfect for
us.
