First Day at the New Job

I had meant for their to be a post up today with interviewing tips. However, the weekend ended up being busier, with more important things than blog posts to think about, than originally planned. AND today is my first day at the new job. So please bear with me through jut a little bit more sporadic posting, and hopefully we’ll be back on schedule soon.

Sunday Evening Post #96

I’m not doing a regular Sunday evening post this week, mostly because I am too exhausted. We took a long awaited trip to the full sized Stonehenge replica in central, southern Washington this weekend. It also happens to be a WWI memorial. The trip involved 4 people and 2 dogs, one of the 65 cloudy days in this part of WA a year (meaning the trip to the observatory was a bust), a tire with aread more…

Sunday Evening Post #94

Class of 94 in the house! Yes, I’m dating myself. Slowly getting ourselves into a new routine, but I think that routine will mean that the Sunday evening post will now go up at almost, or just after, midnight, east coast time, as we spend Sunday evenings doing “family” stuff, so I won’t be on my computer until after SP is in bed.   Blogging The purpose of these two goals is, yes, to grow myread more…

Sunday Evening Post #87

On some level, it does not seem like it was that busy of a week. We saw Flogging Molly on Tuesday night, and I took Wednesday off. But I did not read a single other blog this week (which I feel bad about), so I did not do a round up yesterday. I did get my hair colored yesterday. Priorities, you know. 🙂 I really have done very little this week, and while I needed that, read more…

What’s Your Financial Nemesis?

Over at Debt Black Hole (where personal finance and geek culture meet- is it any wonder I’m a fan), Dave does a monthly post on his family’s financial nemesis- eating out. Having done our 3rd quarter budget review last week, I had to wonder, do we have a financial nemesis? Searching for Clues It used to be eating out. I won’t lie about that. When the MIL lived with us especially, we ate out a lot, read more…

I’m Away…

By the time this posts, I will hopefully be enjoying myself at the Yakezie meetup at FinCon. I do NOT have a smart phone. (I might get one in a couple of weeks, but that doesn’t help for this weekend.) That means I will not be posting live updates to the blog or to twitter. I’ll try to check in on twitter in the evening, but I might just be having too much fun. To keepread more…

Bloggers Give Back: Introducing Watsi

It’s been a long time since I’ve done a Bloggers Give Back update, so I thought it might be nice to focus an entire post on it.   I continue to give to charity- for free. I do this by clicking to give at each of the Greater Good Networks sites. (Click the link, it will take you to the Rainforest site. Click the green button. Then, just to the left of “Rainforest” click “Literacy”. Clickread more…
