A Fish Tank Dream
The beautiful weather here isSeattlehas had me outside and not in front of my computer. And I’m loving it. It does, however, mean that I don’t have a substantial post for you today. Instead, I’m going to share one of wild animals- the manatee.
I mentioned when I posted the video of the Seattle Aquarium’s newest sea otter that I would so have a sea otter as a pet if it were allowed. I’d say the same thing about manatees, though I see them more like fish in fish tanks, not quite pets. But, if it were legal (and I could afford it), I would so have a manatee habitat. I remember at one of theFloridatheme parks (probably Sea World) that they had this canal cut along a sidewalk where the manatees lived. C and I both thought that was so cool.
So why am I babbling on about manatees? Well, far away from here, inSingapore, a manatee who was already a grandma recently gave birth to twins. Twin births are very rare for manatees and only one of babies survived. But little Valentine is absolutely adorable and deserves to be seen by the world.
