Guess the Breed

I love playing guess the breed. It’s a fun pastime at the dog park. And while mixed breeds let you be creative, it’s the rarer pure breds that really have my stretching my dog identification skills.

The other night, we followed two of these dogs out of the park:

I kept staring at them. I knew they were Belgian Sheep dogs, but the name Tervueren was escaping me. The only think I could think of was Malinois. I mean, these dogs looked identical to a Malinois except for having long hair and a black coat.

So I asked.

The people were surprised (and impressed) I came up with Malinois. They said most people don’t. But that their’s were Gronendael. The ONLY difference is the coat. Both are Belgian Sheep Dogs and have everything other than coat in common
