A Walk Around the Blogs: Picture Album

March 25, 2012 | Filed under: Pictures, Round Ups and tagged with: house of two bows, love and a six-foot leash, pittieful love, rescued insanity, round up, something wagging this way comes, tales and tails

Here we go, as promised, a delightful Sunday afternoon walk around the blogs. Currently, our 3 are curled up sleeping, after getting to go to the dog park 4 times in the last 5 days. As summer sets in, we’ll likely go every day again, but for now, we’re all getting back in dog park shape.

Since I’ve been posting a lot of pictures lately, I’ve been really drawn to pictures on other sites, so that’s kind of our theme this week. Because really, the only thing better than reading about cute animals is seeing pictures of them.

(Note: While I’m not as good a photographer as most of these folks, I am trying to work more pictures into my posts because of how much I love them at other sites. If you’ve seen some of these before, I hope you enjoy them a second time. )

Pittieful Love also had bath time this week with their new foster Bodie. And, unlike me, they took pictures. Isn’t he adorable!

Love and a Six-Foot Leash gave us Chix-a lot Friday: Goodwill to good fun. Not only are the pictures adorable, but it gave me a good idea what to do with the blankets that Junebug has put holes in.

Over at Something Wagging This Way Comes, we get No Risk No Reward and a picture of Honey in the water and a video of a cross species meeting. I also wanted to mention, regarding her Year of Living Dangerously post, that we are ultra-paranoid of the dogs getting cancer. That’s why we compulsively check treat ingredient lists for sugar. If there’s sugar, our dogs aren’t getting it. (And yes, this is the actual reason we switched to all natural peanut butter.)

You know how when you look at your puppy pictures, you want another one, M.C. at The House of Two Bows reminds us to Hold that thought, even as we look at the adorableness of Bowdu as a puppy.

Tales and Tails is always a great spot for some lovely dog pictures, but we don’t get that many of Blueberry. This week, she kind of has her own little pictorial feature, and we’re all reminded how much better life is If You Can Just Make Someone Happy…

And finally, Rescued Insanity gave us Less Wordy Wednesday-Water Dog. I don’t know what it is about dogs and water, but it makes for some lovely and relaxing pictures. Don’t you just wish you could go wading with Shiva?

Thanks for the shout out. I'm awfully embarrassed to be included with those great photographers you mentioned. But I'm glad you enjoyed my post.

Cancer is such a terrible illness. I can see why it frightens you. Two of my three past dogs died of cancer. And it's the leading cause of death in Golden Retrievers. The best we can do is the best we can do.

But you almost always have a picture with every post. That's something I want to work on.

I'm so glad you liked Blueberry's moment in the spotlight! She's a special girl, and I admit that I'm struggling with finding ways to include her in some of our activities without overdoing things for her. And she always looks so darned happy! Thank you for the kind words! 🙂

      She does look incredibly happy.

I understand the struggle. We're starting to face one ourselves now that the weather is improving enough for daily dog parks, which is heaven for our two, but a bit much for foster Howie. However, he HATES to be left behind (the only time he makes noise is when he thinks we're all going without him), so we're trying to figure out how to take him along without exhausting the poor boy.

Wow! I never expected to one day see one of my posts shared as a result of my photographs! I am truly honoured and am very glad you enjoyed them so much. Shiva is slowly adjusting to the water. It's been hard to be patient with her as we live in the City of Lakes and swimming is one of my favourite activities. I am hoping she will eventually join us.

I gotta say, Bowdu as a puppy is pretty irresistable! I just want to cuddle up next to him for the rest of the day.

I know, it almost made me want a puppy again. Luckily for me the cute picture of Junebug has her curled up in a blanket that is now filled with holes. Reminds me of why I don't actually want another puppy.

And I love your pictures of Shiva in the water. She just looks so "trying to be brave", it makes me smile.
