  According to the neighbors, the other cats seem to look out for him. And my grandfather leaves his back garage door open for them (so they can get out of the weather) as well as putting out food and water. This guy ended up coming up the stairs and heading for that garage door before he sensed me sitting nearby. He stopped for a while, and then wandered off.
