Links and a Request

December 19, 2011 | Filed under: Round Ups

I love it when other blogs post round-ups of what they’ve been reading because it gives me a chance to discover new blogs. So now, I’m hoping to pass it forward, so to speak. Here’s some of what I’m reading.

Lindsay at ThatMutt is sponsoring Dex, a big black dog for adoption. I think that’s a great idea, and hope Dex finds a home soon.

In addition, Lindsay just started the ThatMutt pet forum. Stop on by and check it out.

The Takes and Tails family has a new puppy, one who will be trained for search and rescue, and the whole family is pitching in to help him learn.

Is it cold where you live? Still have to take the dog for a walk? Rescued Insanity gives us a list of must haves for the cold weather in her Battle Cry of a Canadian Dog Walker

Over at love and a six-foot leash, adoptable Dora got to go on a weekend getaway.Austin people (or my friends here that haveAustin people)- How have you not gobbled up this little girl already? I live inSeattle, and I still find myself pondering adopting this little girl.

I often go to two pitties in the city for adorable pit bull pics (I miss my Smokey angel), but today they have some terrible news from friends of theirs who lost their house and 5 of their 7 dogs in a fire. (All humans made it out safely.) You can donate to help this family recover here. And read their story in their own words at Kissa-Bull. I can’t imagine the devastation. And more from a close friend over at Mayzie’s Dog Blog.

Please take a moment of your time to go over and offer them your emotional support. (And again, a special call out to people inTexas-this family is inHouston. If you can help out with something as simple as Christmas dinner, I know they would be forever grateful.)

I’m ending the list here for now, but know that I at least look at just about every blog over on my blog roll every day, and am adding more as I come across them. I hope you’ll take a moment to check them out, too.

Thanks for the kind shout-out! You've linked to some pretty wicked blogs here and I'll have to catch up on my reading.

I love the word "dogoir". In fact, I am kind of sad I didn't come up with it myself. Maybe I'll get to be cool by association?

Thank you. I've really been enjoying your red and green photos. I keep thinking I should do one, but feel like I'd be cheating as we have red and green blankets on the bed in our house where the dogs spend most of their time. No challenge at all to get pictures of them curled up on the bed. 🙂

I love the word "dogoir" too. I wish I could take credit for it, but alas, I cannot. I first read about it in relation to the Marley phenomenom and Jon Katz's books.
