Seattle Dog Health Warning
Just a note that the Seattle area, besides having had human whooping cough at epidemic levels this year, has also seen some big outbreaks of bordatella, and now, parvo- but not the normal parvo. This parvo is affecting dogs of all ages, and senior dogs seem to be especially at risk (normally it’s fairly limited to puppies).
So if your dog is coughing, or if your dog is having tummy troubles (throwing up and diarrhea- usually with a yellowish tinge), get them to a vet, fast. Just because you vaccinated against either or both doesn’t mean your dogs are completely protected, as these seem to be new strains.
You can find more information at Seattle Dog Spot.
For those of you who may be worried about the sick Junebug, it was her “regular” tummy troubles that cleared up in a day. There was no throwing up and she is back to her usual self now.
