Thankful Thursday: Giving Back

I’ll give you three guesses as to what I’m thankful for.

I suppose I should add C, roommie J, family, friends, and friends who might as well be family to that list.

I’ve mentioned before that both June and Larry came from shelters, and you all know that Howie is our foster dog through Old Dog Haven (see button on the right).

In addition to being thankful for my pets, I am thankful for the shelters that have rescued them- to all shelters really, and their volunteers, who make such a difference in animals’ lives. It is not easy work, and those folks deserve our thanks.

Because of this, today I am linking to the Rifle Animal Shelter in Rifle, CO, and to their Amazon Wish List. (Does your shelter have one?) I have a friend who lives there and is currently raising donations for the shelter.

The amazing thing about my friend is that she is highly allergic to animals- she can’t adopt one of her own and she can’t volunteer in the shelter, and yet, she’s still working hard to get these pets the best care possible while waiting for their forever homes.  So I want to say “Thank you” to her, as well.
