Walk Around the Blogs: Action Items
It’s that time again, time to take a walk around the blogs. Today, each of our posts comes with an action item for you. Doesn’t that sound fun?
We start with our friends Maggie & Duke, the 2 Punk Dogs. They are entered into a contest to help their local shelter win 5 Karunda dog beds. (See picture of June to know what these look like.) Your action item: go vote for Maggie & Duke.
Over at Oh, Corbin, it’s the momma’s birthday. Life has been stressful this year, and she’s thinking maybe she shouldn’t celebrate. Your action item: go wish the momma a happy birthday and celebrate with her.
Pamela at Something Wagging This Way Comes (have I said before how much I love the name of this blog?) writes about dog products she just can’t live without, or that Honey can’t live without. Your action item: go check out the list and make some suggestions.
The Poodle (and dog) blog shares with us three different stories of dogs reunited with their families. It is heartwarming, but there’s a definite lesson to be learned. Your action item: Get your pet microchipped! (especially if it’s a Husky). And make sure it’s registered and the information is up to date.
Does your dog hate the vet? Does he hate the vet as much as Bowdu of The House of Two Bows hates the vet? Poor bow needs a thundershirt, muzzle, and drugs, just so they can draw blood without putting him under. But the boy still has to go. Your action item: Is it time to have your pet’s annual visit? Don’t put it off because of the stress. If Bowdu and M.C. can do it, so can you.
So the other day, the dogs were going crazy. It took us a couple of minutes to realize that there was a cat sleeping on our front porch. C went to check on the kitty, maybe shoe it away, but Junebug was faster and got out the door and chased the poor thing. She ended up kind of trapping herself in part of a neighbor’s yard where we were quickly able to get her. Over at the Chronicles of Cardigan household, another cat showed up. The people there are better prepared than we are, so Jon Farleigh and Dewi weren’t able to chase it, and in fact, the kitten came in, in the hopes that in the morning (or over the next couple of days) it’s family will be found. Your action item: We’re repeating this one because it’s so important- get your pet (dog or cat) microchipped!
