A Golden Anniversary and a Puppy
This weekend we drove down to Portland to attend a celebration of my great Aunt and Uncle’s 50th Wedding Anniversary. It was a good time, and I had a chance to meet a number of my cousins who I hadn’t really seen before. This included the celebratory couple’s daughter, her husband, and their 8 week old Lab puppy.
Can you blame me if most of what I remember about the party is Miss Biscuit? She was quite simply a small pile of adorable. She obviously loved people and adored being held and cuddled, though at 8 weeks old, she was very mouthy. Puppies have sharp little teeth.
She wanted to spend most of her time curled up on the cement, sleeping. I couldn’t really blame her. While it wasn’t supremely hot, it was pretty muggy. Of course, her puppy parents wanted her to run and play, with the hopes that she’d sleep at night.
Most of the adults there, though, only wanted to cuddle her. Luckily, kids arrived close to the time we were getting ready to leave, and they had her running up and down the yard.
We got home to our dogs and C commented- Lab puppies aren’t that much cuter than grown Junebugs. Think he might be biased?
