A Golden Anniversary and a Puppy

July 17, 2012 | Filed under: Pictures, Stories

This weekend we drove down to Portland to attend a celebration of my great Aunt and Uncle’s 50th Wedding Anniversary. It was a good time, and I had a chance to meet a number of my cousins who I hadn’t really seen before. This included the celebratory couple’s daughter, her husband, and their 8 week old Lab puppy.

Can you blame me if most of what I remember about the party is Miss Biscuit? She was quite simply a small pile of adorable. She obviously loved people and adored being held and cuddled, though at 8 weeks old, she was very mouthy. Puppies have sharp little teeth.

She wanted to spend most of her time curled up on the cement, sleeping. I couldn’t really blame her. While it wasn’t supremely hot, it was pretty muggy. Of course, her puppy parents wanted her to run and play, with the hopes that she’d sleep at night.

Most of the adults there, though, only wanted to cuddle her. Luckily, kids arrived close to the time we were getting ready to leave, and they had her running up and down the yard.

We got home to our dogs and C commented- Lab puppies aren’t that much cuter than grown Junebugs. Think he might be biased?

Ack! I love Lab puppies and this one's a cutie.

Congratulations to your Great Aunt and Uncle. 50 years together is an amazing feat.

      Cute and sleepy.

It was a good day and a great thing to be celebrating.

Sounds like C knows what he's talking about. And grown Junebugs don't have razor teeth.

True, not razor teeth, but still kind of sharp teeth. Every once in a while she still wants to use me as a pacifier

I love all puppies, I'm sure I would have been hard-pressed to set her down, although I really do have a fondness for Beagles as well. Your C is very adorable.

My C actually is adorable, though he's more Koala like than Beagle like. Junebug, the Beagle, is pretty darn cute, too. 😉
