June misses her crate
We currently have all the bedrooms in our house filled with people, so bins of laundry that are usually kept in another room are in our room for a few days. I am terrible at putting clothes (especially off season clothes) away, so there is currently a bin filled mostly with clean heavy sweaters and sweatshirts sitting next to the closet, waiting for me to do something with them.
The other night, June apparently decided she missed being crated or just had a need to den. Normally she scratches at the outside of these bins or tries to tip them over, but that night, she managed to climb in it. She dug around in the clothes for a bit and then settled herself happily in the bin.
It was very cute, and I should have taken a picture. We let her stay there for a little bit, but as she has a habit of chewing on clothes, we pulled her out after not too long.
It does make me wonder if we should start crating her again. She used to be crated whenever we left, with Smokey left loose in the room. Currently, we leave June and Larry loose in our room together.
When we come home, he’s all up and excited, but she’s usually still doing her wake up stretch routine by the time we open the bedroom door, so I don’t think he’s harassing her while we’re away. Still, maybe she goes back in her crate. Maybe we buy him a crate, too.
Of course, then we need to find a new place to put the crates, because two definitely won’t fit in our room.
