Dog Neurosis

May 18, 2011 | Filed under: Stories
A death in the family caused me to be away for a few days (and is why I missed posting on Monday). Apparently, the dogs, especially Larry, got a little neurotic while I was gone.
One night, he just stood in the hallway barking at our roommate. And its not like E just moved in- he’s been with us the entire time we’ve had Larry.
In addition, he’s decided to freak out when our friend J came over. Larry normally calms down shortly after people arrive and then remembers them the next time he sees them. But, it took him a while to warm up to J last time- our guess is because J has a big dog at home that he smells like. But animals normally love him. It took a whole chicken treat to get Larry to calm down.
Nicely, though, E and J were still willing to accompany C to the dog park, so that the dogs still got the exercise they needed.
This blog is mostly about how blessed we are by the pets in our lives. But its nice to remember the blessings our friends bring as well.
