Getting it together
Trying to get back on track here. There were all sorts of little things I thought about during this hiatus, and I tried to take mental notes of what I wanted to write about, but when you take a break from something, even if the break is only a month long, it can be hard to re-establish the habit. But re-establish is what we are trying to do. Hopefully, starting with this post, we’ll get back on our MWF schedule.
We had friends, M & B, come over for St Patrick’s Day dinner. C makes corned beef two ways and some pretty amazing mashed potatoes. Our friends brought their two dogs with them.
Nigel is a mutant Papillion, who was once a bad dog, and is now a very good dog. B volunteers at an animal shelter and specializes in rehabilitating dogs like Nigel.
Zoey is a pretty, pretty princess, in every way shape and form. She is a lovely Sheltie, but aloof, at least from other dogs. She wants her attention in the form of adoration from people. Excited little beagles are beneath her notice.
It was a lot of fun to watch Junebug try and play with Nigel and Zoey, and good socialization experience for all three of them. Zoey pretty instantly jumped up on to the recliner and stayed there all evening, watching the events, and getting her due of pets.
Nigel couldn’t decide if he wanted to play with June or not. Sometimes he would, and then, for whatever reason, he would run and “hide” on B’s lap.
June tried. She had beautiful little play bows, and her tail wagged the whole time. She enjoyed having doggie visitors, even if they didn’t want to romp.
Eventually, M sat on the floor and played with June. They both had a grand time. I should have taken a picture.
