The Secret to Not Killing Co-Workers
I have a pet board in my office. It started when I was in a more stressful job and hung on the wall of my cube. It was a place to display pictures of my pets as well as pets belonging to friends and family. It grew to include pictures of a number of my co-workers pets. Mostly, they are dogs (I’m a dog person), but we also cats and even a couple chicks.
This was my stress relief. When I was having a bad day, I could turn around and take in the cuteness. I can name the person that every pet on the board belongs to, and if I was really frustrated with one of them, I would look at their cute pet and remember why its wrong to kill your co-workers.
When I switched jobs, the full board came with me. I also got a second matching board so that I could add the pets of my new co-workers. Right now it looks pretty bare, but mostly because I haven’t printed out, or hung up, all of the pictures I have.
And even with less stress, its still nice to be able to turn around and look at cuteness.
