Happy Thanksgiving

Today is a day to be thankful. It has been a tough couple of years for us, as we lost Moree just a few weeks before Thanksgiving in 2009, and then lost Smokey this spring. At the same time, there is much to be thankful for.

I am thankful we were able to give them the care they needed. During Smokey’s last week with us, I am thankful that he never had to be left alone.

I am currently thankful that June’s issues were not super serious, appear to be resolving, and that being able to pay for them was never an issue.

I am thankful I have a husband who loves our dogs as much as I do, who has the same pet owning philosophies I do.

There are a million things about being a pet owner that make me thankful every day- from sweet kisses to cuddles under the blankets. I am grateful for dogs who love being a part of our family as much as we love having them.

They aren’t always the best dogs, but that’s okay because I’m not always the best person. I am thankful every day for their sweet and loving natures, for their ability to forgive, and the love they give me every single day.
