Idiosyncracies
Larry is a weird little dog sometimes. When you pet him and give him cuddles, he doesn’t really respond except by looking pathetic. Rarely do you get kisses or tail thumps or anything. It’s almost like he doesn’t enjoy attention.
And yet, he desperately wants to be near us. When we get home, then its jumping up and down, and kisses, and hand holding. When I am the only one home, I can’t even be on my computer because both dogs want attention. Larry is small and agile enough that he can jump up on my lap, even when I’ve go the keyboard tray out. If he could just sit still, he could be on my lap while I did stuff on the computer, but still isn’t his thing.
And then at night, he not only wants to sleep next to us, he wants to be under the covers next to us. His favorite places to sleep are against my chest and stomach or in the crook of my legs. But still, he rarely wants to be petted. He just wants to be curled up next to me.
