A Walk Around the Blog: Spreading Smiles
Today is all about things that make me smile. I like smiling.
This story of two friends who need a new home is kind of sad, but their relationship is wonderful. A cat and his dog, or a Yorkie and her cat. However you think of it, I agree with 2 Punk Dogs– this is an adorable odd couple.
Anne the Dog Photographer continues to live up to her name. I have no doubt her pictures of darling city shelter dogs help them get adopted soonest.
Please don’t think that dog aggression or owner directed aggression (ie when a dog bites the hand that feeds) make me smile. What does make me smile is the courage it takes to share personal stories like this, and the knowledge that over at Brining Up Bella, Bella still has a home, is loved, and is getting braver and more confident every day.
Abby at Doggerel also has a shy dog, one who needs to build her confidence. This last week, they were lucky enough to run into another dog walker whose dog had previously had the same problem, and that person was willing to stand and chat long enough for the lovely Pyrrha to figure out play would be much more fun than growling.
No Dog About It remains one of my favorite blogs. This week, Mel reminds us that even in a time of politics, taking care of our animal friends isn’t a partisan issue. No matter who you vote for in the polls, Let Us All Be For Dogs.
It boggles my mind that a dog as handsome and sweet as Chick is not yet a canine good citizen. He came really close recently though, really close, and tells us the story over at Love and a Six Foot Leash.
I’ll be honest here. I am completely envious of the new floors– completely. My carpets have similar mystery stains. But honestly, what really made me smile was the bunny pictures. No one can frown when they see cuddly bunnies. Thank you, Borderblog for the smile.
And now we have a new feature of the Walk Around the Blogs. I’m going to do my best to share all the pet related blog posts I come across in the Personal Finance blog-o-sphere here. And if pet bloggers write a personal finance related post, I’ll share that over on my personal finance blog.
So here they are, Pet Posts from Personal Finance Bloggers over the last two weeks.
L Bee and the Money Tree – My Dog has a Panty Fetish (we all know this dog- many of us own this dog)
Money Beagle (can you guess why I like this blog?)- I Saved $62 Just by Asking
Money Life and More– Pets Are Expensive (could one of you with experience with dog allergies head on over and maybe give them some advice. Poor Daphne’s an itchy little girl.)
When Life Gives You Lemons, Add Vodka– The Cost of Rescuing a Dog (and what an adorable senior Dachshund she is)
Daily Money Shot– Problem Dog Strikes Again (and by this she means, ate some more of her daughter’s toys)
So Over This– Things I Don’t Understand About My Dogs (we all think our dogs are weird, perhaps even weirder than other dogs. Andrea tells you why she feels that way about her pack.)
