Sunny days?\nRetirement parties? Spending an evening babysitting my best friend\u2019s little\nboy? All of those things, but they are not quite what is making the list today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignleft is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/erinshanendoah.com\/alienanthros\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/20190520_141609-2-700x1028.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-995\" width=\"106\" height=\"156\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Gratitude Entry #38 \u2013\nLazy Days<\/strong><br>\nOn Saturday, we took the dogs on a walk around the block, did some organization\nin the game room, and that was it for productivity. It was, for the most part,\na lovely, lazy day. The weather was a little chilly, so there was wrapping\nourselves in blankets and watching documentaries and movies that tried to\ncapture the magic of Indiana Jones. But we did not leave the house beyond that\nwalk around the block.<br>\nIt was nice to just spend a day at home, being lazy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/erinshanendoah.com\/alienanthros\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/20190527_081722-2-700x969.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-994\" width=\"153\" height=\"214\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Gratitude Entry #39 \u2013\nMy Awesome Stylist<br>\n<\/strong>For the last year and a half, my hair has been fashion colors. We have had\npink and purple, blue and purple, gray with blue, bright red, and most\nrecently, bright yellow with red orange tips. Yesterday, I went in to get my\nroots done and touch things up. The bright yellow with red orange tips had\nfaded to a lovely lemon color with the ends showing a hint of strawberry. We\ndecided not to re-bleach my roots and go back to a bright yellow or an orange,\nbut instead, chose a \u201cregular\u201d copper color to put along the roots and pull\nsome strands through to blend it with the lemon.<br>\nMy hair looks gorgeous. It is not currently a \u201cfashion color\u201d but is not quite\na natural looking color either, though it is close. But whatever it is, it is\ngorgeous.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Bonus Gratitude Entry<\/strong><br> Even if I had gotten this entry up yesterday or earlier last week, I would be doing on a \u201cbonus\u201d gratitude entry today. Today is Memorial Day. Today we remember, and are thankful for, those who died protecting our freedoms. And today, as we remember their sacrifice, we take a moment to promise them those sacrifices will not have been in vain. That we will continue the fight, sometimes even against our own government, to protect the Constitution, and to ensure that those freedoms they died to protect remain freedoms, for all the people of the United States.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/erinshanendoah.com\/alienanthros\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/IMG_0145-2-700x869.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-997\" width=\"322\" height=\"401\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>One of the problems with the long weekend is that, in my head, it is not just the weekend that is one day longer, but the week, too.
