My goal is post about 100 things I\nam grateful for over the course of the year. (This should average out to just a\nlittle over 2\/week.) However, I am going to try and stay away from the standard\nfamily\/friends\/pets. Please know I absolutely am grateful for my family,\nfriends, and pets. I would not have made it through the past couple of year\nwithout each of them. But if I am trying to train myself to be happier, then I\nwant to start recognizing the smaller things in life that I am grateful for.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Last week, I was grateful for modern conveniences that make\nour lives so much simpler. This week, spring has truly hit the Seattle area,\nand I am grateful for those bits of nature that are still in our lives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/erinshanendoah.com\/alienanthros\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/20180921_064140-700x812.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-915\" width=\"248\" height=\"291\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Gratitude Entry #20 \u2013\nBunny Rabbits &amp; Raccoons<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Every morning, I walk from the bus stop through campus to my\nbuilding. Right now it is spring, and with the change to DST, we are just past\ndawn, in the first hour of morning light when I make my walk. And so, this week\nI have seen bunnies and raccoons along with the normal geese, seagulls, and\nducks, as I make my way through campus. The bunnies are, of course, cute, but\ngenerally in a hurry to get away from people, unless they are frozen in place. <br>\nThe raccoons are the best. This week, I first saw one running across the wide grassy\nlawn, from one stand of trees to another. He kept looking back over his\nshoulder. When I got to where I had seen him come out of the bushes, there were\ntwo other raccoons there. I looked at them and asked \u201cDid you chase him away?\u201d\nOne of them tossed it\u2019s head and turned around, going back into the bushes. The\nother ignored me entirely.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/erinshanendoah.com\/alienanthros\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/20180320_100958-700x394.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-916\" width=\"581\" height=\"326\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Gratitude Entry #21 \u2013\nCherry Blossoms<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignleft is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/erinshanendoah.com\/alienanthros\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/20190328_130600-e1553811674862-700x1244.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-912\" width=\"231\" height=\"417\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Our campus is known for it\u2019s cherry blossoms. They bloom every year right around spring break. This year, they are in bloom during spring break, which means that while campus is not full of students, it is full of tourists and people who are trying to get professional pictures taken.
