Really. But then my night ended in a phone call with Pop Tart instead \u2013\nsomething all on it\u2019s own to be grateful for. And I did not write. It happens.<br>\nBut I was grateful for a few things this week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/scontent-sea1-1.xx.fbcdn.net\/v\/t1.0-9\/66363514_10219610479999126_8916552045813563392_n.jpg?_nc_cat=107&amp;_nc_oc=AQltjGZGCTRzAp8IgIhmmhndyur7lyqcpPIDWY9K1_csoFJzsEcxh_nUcmVziCbVBx0&amp;_nc_ht=scontent-sea1-1.xx&amp;oh=0c445b9a8f92c9148b222fd4c1abc197&amp;oe=5DAAC3B2\" alt=\"\" width=\"166\" height=\"306\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Gratitude Entry #50 \u2013 CBD Oil for Dogs<\/strong><br>\nListen, this last week was the 4<sup>th<\/sup> of July. And I live in an area\nwhere fireworks are legal. And not just the little ones, big ones. And I have\ndogs, dogs that have lived all of their lives in urban or suburban areas. These\nare not dogs who are used to loud booms. But a few nights a year (4<sup>th<\/sup>\nof July, New Year\u2019s Eve, and if the Seahawks make the playoffs) there are\nfireworks with very loud booms. And Junebug huddles in her crate in fear. Larry\ntrembles uncontrollably, trying to figure out where the threat is coming from\nand wanting to make it stop. But he cannot make it stop, and I cannot make it\nstop for him.<br>\nEnter CBD Oil, used in combination with their Thundershirts. Yes, I drug my\ndogs. And this is a good thing. Junebug was able to sleep. Larry was able to\nlie quietly on the bed with me, no shaking involved. He still responded to the\nreally big booms with barking, but it was the same way he would respond to the\ndoorbell. There was not the overwhelming fear. And I will take that, every\nsingle time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Gratitude Entry #51 \u2013 A Good Mani\/Pedi Place<\/strong><br>\nI used to have acrylic nails. This meant I got my nails done every two weeks,\nfor years. I no longer have the fancy nails (instead I have fancy hair), so I\ndo not go get my nails done every two weeks anymore. But I do like to go get\nthem done about every two months. But it can be hard to find a place I like\nwith decent prices. Well, this weekend, I found a salon close to home with\nreally great prices and excellent service. Plus, it is open on Sundays (which\nis the day I am most likely to have time to go get a mani\/pedi). <br>\nAnd yes, this is a little thing, but that\u2019s the whole point of this journal, to\nremind myself to be grateful for the little things.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignleft is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/scontent-sea1-1.xx.fbcdn.net\/v\/t1.0-9\/66692106_10219631417322546_7545555599681912832_n.jpg?_nc_cat=101&amp;_nc_oc=AQlTwSOcyCv4slVne2V-uLKj9iwBSrqcxQmdkGA63G5zA7NJFy1NXAmtGxBHq3AOLZQ&amp;_nc_ht=scontent-sea1-1.xx&amp;oh=20840009f2f9a91d35c8b1fdabd41017&amp;oe=5DB613AB\" alt=\"\" width=\"148\" height=\"275\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Gratitude Entry #52 \u2013 Wildlife Rehab Centers<\/strong><br>\nOn Friday, as I was walking the yard to pick up sticks and other debris before\nmowing the lawn, I noticed a baby bunny rabbit in our grass. He was staying\nvery still. I decided to grab my phone and get a picture. And that is when I\nrealized that he was letting me get a little too close. It turned out, the baby\nbunny was injured. It was not an obvious injury, no blood or broken bones that\nwe could tell, but he was not able to use his back legs. This is pretty much\ndeath for a rabbit.<br>\nI could not leave him in our back yard. The last thing I wanted was for our\ndogs to get him. But even moving the little guy to our front yard would likely\nhave led to his death by some other predator. And I get circle of life and that\nthe raptors have to eat. I do. But I did not want to be the one responsible for\nit. So, I took advantage of the fact that we actually have a Wildlife Rehab Center\nnearby and drove the bunny there.
